Firm Overview

Based in New York, Mast-Head is an investment management company founded by Charlie Smith in 2013.  The Firm manages a long/short equity fund for high net-worth individuals, and provides research and advisory services to other investment groups. 

Mast-Head deploys an event-driven strategy across its investment Portfolio that includes approximately fifteen long/short equity positions.  New investments are sourced using a top-down approach that stresses long-term consumer demand growth and, in turn, the companies that are, strategically, best-positioned to benefit from the forward trend.  The Portfolio is then weighted towards the most attractively-priced investments and/or positions where ‘event-driven’ catalysts have the highest likelihood of unlocking near-term value.

The Firm’s research and advisory business is geared towards market strategy, macroeconomic forecasting, and corporate valuation.  Industries of focus include Media, Technology, Consumer Goods, Industrials, Chemicals, and Transportation.
